Outreach and Community Service

volunteer_wordsCentral Christian Church is thrilled to be part of the spread of God’s kingdom everywhere from our backyard to around the world. Not only do we host various community service events at our facility, but we are “Always on a Mission” with active local outreach efforts by having a different “Mission of the Month” focus on a given organization or cause.

We also send missionaries and support their efforts with our money and with our prayers. Each year, a small mission team from our church travels to assist in practical projects and disaster relief outreach. Most recently, our mission team traveled to St. Louis in early 2016 to assist with cleanup after the flooding that occurred in December 2015, to Washington, Illinois in July 2014 to help with tornado cleanup and recovery effort, to Long Island, New York in July 2013 to help with the Hurricane Sandy Rebuilding Program as well as to Joplin, Missouri in July 2012 to assist with the May 2011 Tornado Recovery efforts.

We have also participated in the Christmount Mission Camp near Asheville, NC in the summers of 2015 and 2016 where youth and adults get hands on learning about serving as missionaries not only in NC but back home in their own communities.

We encourage all of our people to respond to God’s call for laborers, whether it means that they live and minister in our own community or serve out-of-state or in a foreign country.
