Making a
Difference Through YOUTH CHRISTIAN ORGANIZATIONS
• Youth Group
(grades 7-12)
Youth Group (youth entering grade 7 up through grade 12) meet on Sunday
nights from 5:00 to 6:30pm. Sunday nights are a time to unwind from the
weekend and start the week on the right foot. This time together includes
making food like mini-pizzas, tacos, etc. in the Fellowship Hall kitchen,
watching and discussing material from thought-provoking DVD's, and activities
like hiking and sled-riding.
• Neighborhood Ski Club
Central Christian is organizing a Ski Club in January 2009 for its youth and
neighborhood kids at the Boston Mills/Brandywine Ski Resort. Boston
Mills/Brandywine Ski Resort offers a season-long School Club Program for
upper elementary, junior and senior high school students who are at least 8
years old by 1/1/2009. The package includes time on the slopes, equipment
rental (if applicable) and lessons. It also includes free ski passes for
friends and family. Boston Mills/Brandywine guarantees five sessions to gain
up to 5 lessons for beginners, intermediates and advanced level students.
Sessions are 4 hours long. Two advisors accompany the club for its first
five sessions so that the students arrive and depart as a group.
• Cub Scouts -
Pack 79
Tiger Den and Wolf Den meetings are held the first and third Mondays of each
month at 6:30pm. Bear and Webelos Den meetings are held the second and
fourth Mondays of each month at 6:30pm.
Pack 79 committee meetings are held
the third Wednesday of each month at 7:00pm. Contact Cub Master Brian Mackey
at 330-262-2263 for more information.
• God and Country
Several religious awards are offered through Scouting and church. They are
intended to allow the Scout to go into more depth in his or her religious
life, finding out more about faith and themselves. Contact
Rev. Phipps for more information.
