Wooster, OH to Joliet, IL
On Tuesday afternoon we drove to my brother, Jeff's, on the west side of Columbus and
he drove us to the Columbus Airport to pick up our rental car.  It's a white 2008 Toyota Prius
and it had 4,802 miles when we picked it up.  Our only difficulty was finding the rental
counter at the airport!!  It's designed for folks coming in on flights not driving in from the west
side.  Back to Wooster for a meeting with the Trustees and the Decorating Committee then
home to work on getting ready to go.

We had the Prius loaded to the gills by 1:15 pm and were ready to head out, when both of
our cell phones rang.  Uh--oh.  Not a good sign.  It was Lucy Ewing telling us that tickets for
Disneyland we had been waiting on had arrived at her office only a moment before and if we
wanted we could stop by and pick them up.  OK, it was a good thing for the cell phones to
ring.  After a stop at VIP Travel, it was on to Ashland and a stop at Lyn-Way for lunch and of
course, pie.  Then onto I-80 and headed west.  We figured we'd pay $4.00 a gallon for gas
sometime on the trip, but we didn't think it would be the first day.  We're trying to make this a
Flying-J fuel trip and we missed the one in Toledo.  We needed to purchase just a gallon of
fuel to get us to where we had planned to stop in Indiana and the most convenient place was
on the Indiana turnpike.  It wasn't quite $4.00 -- only $3.999!!

After we purchased the liquid gold, the 'Maintenance Required' light lit up on the
dashboard.  We called Hertz and on Thursday we'll be making a stop to get the Prius it's first
oil change.

Drove  until about 10:00 pm when we stopped at the Comfort Inn North in Joliet, IL.  The
Prius averaged 50.8 mpg.  Tomorrow we plan to visit the Herbert Hoover Memorial in West
Branch, IA and then onto Des Moines for the evening.
